TCI Revenue Forecast Model

Please note: HMG has released to the Chamber of Commerce an XL version of the econometric forecasting model developed to assist in the formation of fiscal policy. The government has set out its proposals for closing the fiscal deficit for consultation with the Chamber and others.
The XL model is not the original model, which was prepared on more powerful software. It allows businessmen and decision makers to review how the government views the future of the economy and their sector, including how the government believe the new taxes will affect different sectors. The model sets out the assumptions driving the forecast and will enable members to make constructive and rational comments on the forecast and the policies put forward for consultation.
The Chamber commends and thanks HMG for this advance in transparency and open government.
